Halloween Pumpkin Cake

Happy Halloween!
Today I have a Halloween snack I bought from Candysan
Is this not the cutest package! Such nice colours and cute ghosts!
The package opens really nicely to reveal four individually wrapped snack sized cakes

When I opened the cake, it smelled sweet but not in the way I expected. I thought it would smell like pumpkin pie but that wasn't the case (*´ω`*)
When I took a bite, it wasn't what I expected either. The cake was soft and fluffy and tasted more like roasted pumpkin than any pumpkin cakes we have in the States. It tasted natural which was really good! It also had a slightly rich and smoky flavor thanks to the adzuki beans which was a really nice touch! They definately weren't overly sweet which was good for me and a nice change of pace from the pumpkin sweets i've had before. I absolutely loved it!

Tenten Ramen

This weekend was so exciting because Knight-chan came over to visit! They live three hours away so I don't get to see them very often (;ω;) But we had a great time!
Since I wasn't able to try any new snacks, I figured I'D share a cute ramen shop I went to Friday before Knight-chan got here
It's called Tenten Ramen
They have a nice selection of Japanese food and obviously they have Ramen.
To start though, I got some Thai bubble tea
I had never had Thai tea before but I'm a huge boba fan so I figured why not. It was nice. It had the bitterness of a black tea with the sweet and creaminess of a milk tea and something else? I'm not quite sure how to describe it (>人<;) but it was good! Not quite as good as a taro tea, but I would definately drink it again.
For my meal I got their shio ramen.
Shio ramen is ramen in a salt broth and this one came with pork, bean sprouts, soy sauce egg and narutomaki (which I was really excited about). The broth was simple and salty and the noodles were cooked well. The pork was tender and very well seasoned. The soy sauce egg was good, though I perfer my eggs well done, so I may try making my own! I actually really loved the bean sprouts which is nice as normally I don't want to eat them. Maybe that's just me getting older (*´꒳`*) The narutomaki was fun too because I've always wanted to try them, but even most specialty shops in the US don't seem to serve them. They were soft and mild tasting and I liked trying them! It made me feel like I was in an anime ( ^ω^ )
The meal was delicious and the staff was so kind! My waitress even drew a pikachu on the check
So cute! I'm a little embarrassed to say I kept it (´-ω-`)
I highly recommend them if you're in the area!
Their website is Here
Next time, hopefully I can bring Knight-chan \(//∇//)\ maybe even as a date...
